The Montgomery County Volunteer Center (Volunteer Center) works to promote the culture of giving and serving in the county. The large-scale community outreach event is promoted to a multi-cultural community used as a tool to educate and engage with a variety of key stakeholders.

It’s helpful to understand why learning to give back to others is vital for positive youth development and how parents, schools, and communities play an important role.
THE SOLUTION
Signature Events Designed to Make a Difference
TMAC led community events building on past successes and creating new partnerships with nonprofits, community groups and government agencies. Events include Martin Luther King Day of Service, Earth Day, Community Service Week, and Montgomery Serves Awards. For Martin Luther King Day of Service, students had the opportunity to participate in an experience-based event learning how to give back while gaining student service learning (SSL) hours. In 2016, we incorporated the first anchor project “80,000 Meals in a Day” along with the 150+ service projects.
Responsible for program development, venue booking, event logistics, sponsorships, stakeholder and partnership coordination, volunteer staff recruitment, budget management, community outreach, event marketing, public relation services, event materials, suppliers and exhibitors, event registration, onsite management, financial reporting, and more.
